Dolphin Island

Alex van Heeren originally purchased Dolphin Island in 1987 as a special place for family holidays and over time has been persuaded to share all its charms with others. Located just 30 minutes by boat from shore, on the tip of Viti Levu, Fiji, Dolphin Island nestles like a precious jewel, surrounded by crystal-clear waters. The island’s own private boat transfers guests to their own 14-acre private island retreat where on arrival, they will be immediately enveloped by the beauty and luxurious ambience of this South Pacific paradise. Accommodation for a maximum of 8 guests, on an exclusive-use basis, awaits.

The main bure, with its fabulous traditional palm-thatched roof and architecturally detailed elevation, with infinity pool, holds centre court. A pair of equally picturesque guest bure suites sit to each side in perfect harmony. This group of buildings are at one with the landscape and every aspect of their design ensures perfect enjoyment of the island’s nurturing and lush natural landscape.

For total romance, guests can take a easy stroll to the top of the island where the hilltop sleep-out bure awaits. This utterly divine, thatched open-air bedroom, is both rustic and refined – perfect for a tryst or for an overnight stay!

Island host Dawn Simpson and her team provide the warm style of hospitality that Fijian people are so well known for. They look after guests as little or as much as they desire, while always providing attentive and solicitous service for all Dolphin Island visitors.
